Where the Wild Things Are - Movie Review

Fantasy, adventure, hilarity, family, terror.  All words that could be used to describe Where The Wild Things Are.  This movie really touched the hearts of a lot of people who grew up reading this wonderful book.  As with most kids, this was one of my all time favorite stories so you know I was excited to hear the movie was being made.  I waited in anticipation for the previews to end and the "gigantic" adventure to begin.  I thought the tone of the film was spot.fucking.on.  They really grabbed the surrealism you feel when reading the book.  The "wild things" were beautifuly crafted and were a mix of scaryness and squishiness.  The cinimetography in this film was top notch.  Lance Acord did a great job in finding the perfect lighting and camera angles to make the watcher feel as though they were in this dream land.  My only gripe with this film is that there was a lot of missed oportunities to pull the story together a bit more.  Granted the book was only 10 lines, but the writers could have put the screenplay together a bit better.
